Turco Taco was born from our family’s desire to eat better without giving up the foods we love. Food should bring people together, make you feel good, and never make you choose between great taste and the way you want to eat.
In 2001, Oz came to America from Turkey with a dream and a willingness to work for it. He started as a busboy, worked his way through every position in the restaurant business, and eventually became a restaurant owner and operator. His journey took him from New Jersey to Australia and ultimately to Naples, Florida, where he continued building his experience in some of the area’s respected restaurants.
While living in Australia, we also owned Bondi Fresh, a healthy quick-service restaurant on Sydney’s famous Bondi Beach. That experience changed the way we thought about food and helped inspire a more health-conscious lifestyle for our family.
As our family became more aware of food sensitivities, ingredients, and how food made us feel, we realized there was something missing: food that was genuinely flavorful, made with quality ingredients, and welcoming to people with different dietary needs.
So, in 2019, we created Turco Taco.
Where Turkey Meets Mexico
Our food brings together the flavors and traditions Oz grew up with and the cuisine we fell in love with along the way. We call it Mexiterranean fusion, a combination of Turkish and Mexican influences built around fresh ingredients, bold spices, house-made sauces, fresh tortillas, and carefully prepared proteins.
We still approach Turco Taco the same way we approach cooking for our own family, with care, quality, and a genuine passion for great food.
From Our Family to Yours
What started as one family's desire to eat better has grown into something much bigger.
We believe eating well shouldn't mean sacrificing flavor, and dietary preferences shouldn't mean sacrificing the experience of sharing a great meal with family and friends.
We don't believe food needs to be complicated to be exceptional. It just needs to be made with good ingredients, thoughtful recipes, and a genuine desire to take care of the people sitting at the table.
Because at the end of the day, that's what a restaurant should be about.
